Detectives have released footage of two young men they want to trace after thugs held a “terrified” woman and her child at knifepoint after forcing their way into the family home in south west London.
The pair knocked on the door of the Wandsworth flat and when the victim, 22, opened it they bundled her inside even though she was carrying her child.
She was forced into the kitchen where one of the knifemen ordered her to hand over cash during the horrifying ordeal, at 1.25pm on Tuesday.
They then fled from the Wansdsworth flat empty handed.
Officers have started a manhunt and have released CCTV images of two males as part of the investigation.
Detectives from the South West Command Unit are in charge of the investigation and are appealing for information.
Detective Sergeant Cerith Jones said: “The community will be appalled by this awful incident and I know many people will want to reach out and help us identify them.
“I urge local people to please check your doorbell and dash cam footage for any material that could assist us. If you were in the vicinity and saw two men acting suspiciously, or running away, we want to hear from you.
“The young woman was terrified and it is imperative that we catch the men responsible.”
Police will be despatching extra patrols in the Wandsworth area this week the coming days to help reassure local people.
