Alan Carr made a sad admission to his pal Amanda Holden during the latest episode of their BBC series. The comedian and the talent show judge are currently on-screen every Friday night in Amanda & Alan's Italian Job.
The BBC One show, which was filmed last year, has seen the celebrity pals purchase two dilapidated apartments for one euro each in picture-perfect Salemi in Italy before spending the summer renovating them. Then, at the end of the summer, the property goes on sale and all the profits are donated to charity.
Earlier in the series, Alan and Amanda were seen renovating the kitchen of the Sicilian property when Amanda, 5, said to Alan: "I feel free here, I feel really relaxed. Is this a good time do you think... because I know you've had a massively stressful year. You've gone through a divorce, you're on tour and now we've decided to take on this house. They're a lot of quite stressful things."

Alan, 46, admitted it had been a difficult time as he told his fellow TV star: "Well they say it's the three D's that are the most stressful things in life. Death, divorce and DIY. And I'm doing two out of them this year." He then joked: "Thank god I don't cark it. It's early days."
Alan's separation from husband Paul Drayton was announced in January last year. They had been married for three years, but were a couple for 13 years and were said to have made the decision "jointly and amicably". They were famously married by singer Adele in her back garden in Los Angeles.
Alan later spoke about one of the reasons for the split on ITV's Lorraine. He said at the time: "I wrote the tour, and then our marriage broke down during Covid, because it was so stressful, everything ... And then I was going on stage and I was just like, 'Well this doesn't make sense, this doesn't make sense.'
"So we're divorced now, he's excited about the future, I'm excited about the future. We're still always going to be friends because we've been through so much together."
But during the latest episode of their series on Friday night (January 27), Amanda brought up the possibility of Alan finding love again as the Britain's Got Talent star asked her pal: "When do you feel like you might be ready to open up your heart again?" to which Alan: "Oh I don't know."
He then heartbreakingly admitted: "I've got to go home at some point. I think I'm just a little bit terrified of going home, going back to an empty house that used to be full of dogs, I had a farm, I had a husband so I'm kind of putting that off." But Amanda told him that she was desperate for him to be in another relationship, saying: "I do think you need to find love again because you're gorgeous.
"You deserve the best so I feel like you need to find someone who's going to look after you, and run a bath and make you a cup of tea and just hold you." And it appears Amanda tried to find Alan a new partner as when talking about the series earlier this month, Alan told the Express that "Amanda would keep trying to get me a nice Italian boyfriend!"
