Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker will miss the rest of the 2022 season with a torn ACL, the school confirmed Sunday.
Hooker suffered the injury early in the fourth quarter of Saturday night’s 63-38 loss to South Carolina.
A Heisman Trophy candidate who led the Volunteers to a No. 1 ranking earlier in the season, upsetting Alabama along the way, Hooker put up huge numbers this season. He finishes the year with 3,135 passing yards, 27 touchdown passes, and just two interceptions.
One of the top quarterback prospects in the 2023 NFL draft class, Hooker will now focus on recovery and rehab, as he looks ahead to the next chapter of his football journey.
