HYDERABAD: As many as 540 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Telangana on Monday. The number of active cases now stands at 4,481. Of the new cases, 263 cases were recorded in Hyderabad district alone while 50 are recorded in Ranga Reddy and 34 in Medchal- Malkajgiri.
The total number of cases so far in the state stands at 8,10,318. Total recoveries stand at 8,01,726 with 708 recoveries recorded on Monday. The current positivity rate is 2.11 per cent, while the recovery rate is at 98.94%. The death toll stands at 4,111, as no new deaths were recorded.
On Monday, a total of 25, 585 samples were tested. Telangana has now completed testing 3.60 crore samples and has reached 9.68 lakh sample testing per million population.
Meanwhile, in view of the surge in cases seen in the last fortnight, children less than 10 years of age, elders above 60 years of age and people with comorbidities have been asked to stay indoors apart from strictly following Covid-19 safety guidelines.
