HYDERABAD: Continuing the upward trend, Telangana clocked 493 new cases of Covid-19 on Friday, even as the number of active cases saw a steep rise in the last few days touching 3,322 now.
Of the new cases, 366 were recorded in Hyderabad alone while 34 were recorded in Medchal-Malkajgiri and 40 in Ranga Reddy. Overall, 18 out of 33 districts recorded new cases on Friday.
The fresh Covid cases on Friday take the total tally to 7,98,125. The current positivity rate is 1.6%, while the recovery rate slipped to 99.07%. The death toll stands at 4,111, as no new deaths were recorded.
On Friday, a total of 29,084 samples were tested. With this, state has now completed testing 3.54 crore samples.
