Two teenagers were arrested after taking a car they allegedly stole from a house in Fadden on Wednesday to a car wash.
ACT Policing said that about 3.50am on Wednesday, two males allegedly entered a house in Fadden through a front window.
The pair allegedly stole several items from the residence, including jewellery, cash and vehicle keys before driving off with a Volkswagen Golf GTI parked at the house.
About 9.20am on Thursday, police received information that the stolen Golf was at a car wash in Belconnen. Police attended and located the two males allegedly in possession of the vehicle. The duo, identified as a 19-year-old man and 17-year-old boy, were subsequently arrested.
Officers searched the vehicle and located several items believed to have been stolen during the burglary at the Fadden home. Further property believed to be linked to the burglary was also located on one of the males following his arrest, police said.
The two will face court after being charged in relation to an alleged burglary and the theft of a motor vehicle.
The 19-year-old will face the ACT Magistrates Court later on Thursday, charged with aggravated burglary in company and driving a motor vehicle without consent.
The 17-year-old, who was subject to bail conditions and a good behaviour order, will face the ACT Children's Court on Thursday, also charged with aggravated burglary in company and driving a motor vehicle without consent.
