Teenager jailed in Dubai over holiday romance begs ruler 'please let me go home'

An 18-year-old Londoner sentenced to a year in prison for a consensual “holiday romance” with a 17-year-old British girl in Dubai has appealed to the country’s ruler "to let me go home".

Marcus Fakana, an 18-year-old from Tottenham, north London, was sentenced for having a sexual relationship with the 17-year-old, a campaign group said, a relationship which would be legal in the UK.
