Teenager arrested following death of 70-year-old in Hogmanay crash

A TEENAGER has been arrested following a fatal car crash in Paisley on Hogmanay.

Police were called to Barrhead Road, just east of the junction with Ladykirk Crescent, at around 7pm on Tuesday, December 31 following a report of a women being hit by a car.

Elizabeth Kennedy, 70, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police confirmed an 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

He has been released pending further enquiries.
