Teen charged over alleged stabbing that left another boy clinging to life

A teenager has been charged over an alleged stabbing after another boy, 15, appeared on a stranger's doorstep on Friday night carrying critical injuries.

Police were called to Painters Lane at Terrigal, on the Central Coast, about 9.45pm Friday, August 22, after the resident raised the alarm.

NSW Ambulance paramedics saw the boy at the scene before he was rushed to Gosford Hospital in a critical condition.

Officers declared a crime scene and began their investigation.

About 3pm on Saturday, they arrested another 15-year-old boy at Gosford police station.

The boy was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Police refused bail and have held the teenager until he can face a children's court on Sunday, August 23.

In a statement at the weekend, Central Coast councilor Jared Wright said the alleged incident had raised concerns among the community, adding that his thoughts were with the injured teenager and his family.
