Additionally, the suspect's father, who is also facing charges related to the shooting rampage, was scheduled to appear in court later in the morning. The father is facing multiple charges, including involuntary manslaughter, second-degree murder, and cruelty to children for providing the gun used in the incident to his son.
The judge presiding over the proceedings, Judge Curry Mingledorf, emphasized the significant public interest in the case and outlined the court's rules regarding media coverage.
