Ted Lasso season 3: Release date window confirmed and first look at Apple TV hit

Hit comedy-football show Ted Lasso has been commissioned for a third season in the spring months by Apple TV - with teaser images being recently released to pique the interest of fans even more after the roaring success of the first two seasons.

The series has so far seen Hollywood actor Jason Sudeikis play Lasso, an American with absolutely no experience in football coaching whatsoever, taking over AFC Richmond - a fictional club in London based loosely on Crystal Palace, with some scenes being filmed at Selhurst Park.

His side suffer ignominy, embarrassment and also the elation that comes with the highs and lows of football; and with characters such as Roy Kent - based loosely on hot-headed Manchester United legend Roy Keane - it makes for a feel good show. Earning rave reviews so far, the dates for the third series have been set out - including a teaser image that has viewers ready and raring to go.

Ted Lasso season 3 release date

While there has not been an exact date shared for when season three will release, Apple TV+ recently revealed when we can expect it to hit our screens.

Apple TV+ revealed the series would arrive in “Spring 2023” - so we could expect it to drop sometime in March, April or May.

What could happen in season 3?

The newly-released teaser image sees affable Richmond boss Lasso facing up to former assistant Nathan Shelley - with Shelley publicly displaying Lasso's weaknesses in a bid to bring him former boss down.

In the background is the West Ham United badge - where Nathan moved to join former AFC Richmond owner Rupert Mannion - so the trio are expected to play key roles in what should be another enthralling season of hilarious television.

Creator Bill Lawrence hinted that season three may be the series' last in October 2021, saying: “This story is going to be over [in season 3], regardless, even if the show finds another story to tell and goes on."

However, Sudeikis almost dispelled the rumours in a former interview. “The story that’s being told — that three-season arc — is the one that I see, know, and understood,” he said. “As far as what happens after that, who knows? I don’t know.”
