Cincinnati Bengals center Ted Karras went on the “PatMcAfee Show” Tuesday and he was asked about winning a Super Bowl with Joe Burrow and the current team.
“Joey B’s a killer, and we are going to win one,” Karras said. “It’s all I can think about Pat, really. They’ve never won one in Cincinnati so we want to be the guys to do it. And Joey B, he’s the guy to do it.”
After only one season in Cincinnati, Karras believes that Burrow is special and that a Super Bowl-winning Bengals team is a sure thing with him leading the way.
If anyone knows what a championship team and quarterback look like, it’s Karras, who played with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on the teams that won Super Bowl LI and LII.
McAfee said that it seems inevitable that Burrow and the Bengals will win one at some point, saying that Burrow could be the “next Tom Brady.”
After two straight AFC Championship appearances, the Bengals are as close as ever to being in the Super Bowl, but all Bengals fans can do is wait and see if Karras and McAfee are right about getting over that hump.
