An Asda shopper has managed to knock an impressive £40 off his food shop by looking out for Asda Rewards labels on the shelves in his local store. After he downloaded an Asda app to his phone, he found that when buying certain products the supermarket would pay up to 10 per cent back into an Asda Rewards "wallet" — while Asda "Super Stars" would pay back even more.
As the cost of living continues to bite, families are looking at the different ways to make their money stretch. The Asda scheme helps by encouraging shoppers to target certain products, which shoppers may buy anyway, to earn "rewards" on the app which can then be converted into vouchers to spend in-store.
The shopper told YorkshireLive: "After I downloaded the app I noticed the Star Products labels on various shelves. Sometimes they were hidden, for example, an Out of Stock label might be covering up a product label if it hadn't been changed by a member of staff.
