I’m so sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it looks like the Swifties are in for a rude awakening. A so-called ‘Breakup Contract’ is making the rounds online, and it’s threatening to burst the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce love bubble once and for all.
A document that supposedly lays out the details of how these two crazy kids are gonna call it quits has leaked, and it’s got the internet in shambles.
According to this mysterious contract, which was allegedly drawn up by Kelce’s PR firm Full Scope, the plan is for Taylor and Travis to announce their split on September 28. The document outlines a carefully crafted narrative that will make their breakup sound like the most amicable, mutual, and growth-inducing split in the history of all relationships. Personally I could never.
The example statement reads, “Travis and Taylor have decided to part ways after careful consideration. They both value and respect each other’s personal lives and appreciate your respect for privacy during this time.”
It goes on to say that, “They are both committed to their careers and personal growth. They remain friends and wish each other the best.”
Nothing says “we’re still friends” quite like a carefully worded press release.
The documents also lay out which media outlets they’ll be approaching during the fallout of the breakup (PEDESTRIAN.TV was weirdly left off the list).
It also went over specific talking points the couple should hit during interviews, including how “Travis is excited about the upcoming season and is working hard to bring his best to the field”.
Naturally, the PR firm has swiftly denied the authenticity of this document, labelling it “entirely false and fabricated”. They’ve even enlisted legal help to track down the person behind this supposed forgery.
“We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents,” they said per the Daily Mail.
Of course, the internet being the internet, people online have shared their opinions on the whole situation.
One user on Reddit gave a warning to anyone siding with Kelce because the “Swifties are assembling like the avengers on this one. Ring the alarm they’re here”.
A lot of fans think that the documents are fake as they sound like “it was written by AI”.
Others are worried that the couple will now have to put off their breakup in order to make the whole thing seem more believable.
Travis and Taylor have received backlash in the past for seeming like “a fake couple”. UFC star Paige VanZant even chimed in, suggesting that this whole relationship might be nothing more than a “huge publicity play” for both parties.
Which isn’t the most left field theory TBH, let’s be real — Taylor’s appearances at NFL games have been boosting ratings and Travis has gained a whole new legion of fans — AKA I watched more than just the half time during this years Super Bowl.
As for Taylor, Swifties love anything that their Mother gives them to hyper-fixate on — it’s a win-win situation. And now with this so-called contract it seems like this theory is likely.
Neither Taylor or Travis have commented on the contract making the rounds, but one thing’s for sure: the drama surrounding these two is far from over. Grab your popcorn and your tinfoil hats cause this show is just getting started!
