Lightning and rain was not enough to dampen the spirits of 80,000 Taylor Swift fans on night one of her Sydney tour, with the second show kicking off in a matter of hours.
Swift mania is taking over the city after her first show at Accor Stadium on Friday night which included a weather hiccup when heavy rain and lightning hit the city forcing fans to be evacuated briefly.
The popstar's arrival on stage was only delayed by 20 minutes but the opening act Sabrina Carpenter was cancelled due to the tumultuous weather.
But in good news for Carpenter fans, she was brought on during Swift's set with the pair performing the hits White Horse and Coney Island.
It was an especially memorable night for one young fan when Swift gave her a hat while performing the song 22 - a tradition the popstar has carried on through her tour.
Scarlett, 9, from Perth has terminal brain cancer and her Make-A-Wish dream was to meet Taylor swift however it was not made possible by the foundation.
Her stepmother Natalie called on the power of social media to help ... and it happened.
Scarlett held a sign during the concert asking for the 22 hat and she was brought up close to the stage to share a hug with Swift.
The show was not just filled with fans but some celebrity appearances including Swift's NFL sweetheart Travis Kelce, who arrived in Sydney on Thursday to join the popstar for her four sellout shows.
US pop icon Katy Perry and UK singer Rita Ora along with her husband and filmmaker Taika Waititi danced through the show.
Perry posted on Instagram a series of photos with Swift and moments during the concert including exchanging a friendship bracelet with an overjoyed fan.
She captioned the post: "Got to see an old friend shine tonight."
It comes after the pair were reportedly stuck in a feud a decade ago over backing dancers but Friday's post shows they are clearly back in each other's friendship circle.
Ora also posted on Instagram with a reel of images from the concert including her with her husband, Perry, Kelce and Swift.
"It's fair to say Sydney always delivers - or shall we say our TayTay always delivers," she captioned the post.
Although he is not an A-list popstar, admitting so himself, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reportedly was among the Swift fans on Friday night after confirming earlier he was attending.
"I am very much looking forward to it. I'm a Swiftie, so it will be great," he told the Sydney radio Nova 96.9.
His attendance sparked some controversy with calls to give his ticket to a younger, die-hard fan.
Former PM Scott Morrison was also there, sporting a bright pink shirt and hat, with his family enjoying their third Swift concert since the 1989 tour in 2015.
Swift's second Sydney show kicks off from 6.20pm but fans are again expected to flock to the stadium early to secure their seats.
Despite a medium chance of showers, the Bureau of Meteorology's Angus Hynes said it should be dry.
"Temperatures will be down a little bit but it will hardly be a cold night," he said.
The weather is also looking good for the Sunday and Monday concerts.
Swift is expected to rake in about $27 million for each of her seven Australian shows and will personally pocket about $5 million per show.
The Eras Tour as a whole, which began in March 2023 and will finish in December, is already the best-selling concert tour ever and the first to surpass $1 billion in ticket sales.
