The talk about Taylor Swift’s newest album, The Tortured Poets Department, was that it would cover her relationships with Joe Alwyn and Matt Healy.
And it did. But the big surprise — beyond the fact that she then dropped 15 (!!) extra surprise songs to go along with it — is that there are almost undoubtedly references to her relationship with Travis Kelce.
There are two songs that fans are zeroing in on: So High School and The Alchemy.
So High School has a lyric — “Are you gonna marry, kiss, or kill me” that refers to Kelce’s old video in which he played that game and said he’d kiss Swift. The Alchemy has football references everywhere: “So when I touch down, Call the amateurs and cut ’em from the team” and “Where’s the trophy? He just comes, running over to me.”
