Taylor Swift fans were sent into a frenzy as new tour dates were announced for her sell-out tour - but anyone hoping to get tickets has been informed of some major changes to dates and timings in a bid to handle the incredible demand.
The star's Eras Tour kicked off in March and is now set to run until August 2024, with a total of 131 concerts across five continents celebrating all of Taylor's studio albums including her most recent Midnights. The shows were met with unprecedented demand for ticket sales - leading Taylor to announce 14 new tour dates on Wednesday, including three more shows in the UK.
The singing sensation will now play a total of 16 shows in the UK between next June and August next year, visiting London, Cardiff, Liverpool and Edinburgh. With the addition of the new concerts, ticketing procedures and ticket sale timings have now been updated, with a lengthy email sent out to fans on Wednesday informing them of the changes.
Promoter AEG Presents explained that due to overwhelming demand, only a limited number of people who registered for tickets will have the opportunity to access the sales while everyone else will be placed on the waitlist. All registrants will receive an email from Ticketmaster or AXS confirming whether they have been selected or are on the waitlist by midnight on Friday, July 14.
For UK dates, ticket inventory will be split evenly between Ticketmaster and AXS - those who are selected access to ticket sales will be assigned a unique code to one of these agents. The selected fans will be able to access ticket sales for the specific city they registered for, and access will be limited to the specific shows that are on sale on a specific day.
