A tattoo removal studio in London is offering free services to anyone with Kanye West -related tattoos after the controversial singer recently came out with anti-Semitic remarks.
Naama Studios, which is based in Marylebone, is a dedicated laser tattoo removal clinic and already runs a ‘Second Chances’ campaign for people wanting to remove triggering and regretful artwork from their bodies.
Now, the studio is offering their services completely free to those with Kanye-inspired ink, after the singer made extremely offensive statements about Jewish people - comments that saw him banned from Twitter and dropped from brand deals.
After the 45-year-old singer started spreading hate speech through screenshots of anti-Semitic DMs, ex-fan, Alex Jones, was looking to get his tattoo of the cover art from Kanye’s album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album removed.
He tweeted his disdain for the singer and his recent comments, writing: "I got a Kanye-related tattoo in 2016, and ever since he’s been the most colossal f*** head on the planet".
Naama Studios picked up on his tweets and offered to rid him of his shame-inducing ink free of charge.
The 25-year-old told Metro: "It’s really kind of depressing to see someone that you like, who was your hero, start saying awful things about entire groups of people. So yeah, it’s been quite a sad journey."
A member of the Naama Studios team, Briony Garbett, explained the reason behind the studio's decision to start their so-called ‘Yeezy come, Yeezy go’ scheme.
She said: "People with Kanye tattoos were coming to us and you could hear how triggering it was for them, how embarrassing and shameful they felt, given he’s been making the headlines for the wrong reasons. We wanted to alleviate that feeling and offer a place for people to come."
The long-winded procedure to remove Alex’s tattoo will take six sessions to complete, and Alex admitted that he is now put off from getting portrait tattoos, saying: "You’ve got to be careful with an individual because they can quite easily really let you down."
