Update: President Trump has already issued an exemption for automakers on the 25-percent tariffs for Canada and Mexico. Speaking to the press on March 5, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Trump issued a month exemption for automakers, provided they comply with terms of the US- Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) for trade.
