The list that never becomes a ticket
You have had this trip on your mind for a while. Maybe since you watched a wildlife documentary and the Serengeti looked so enormous and so quiet that you felt something shift. Maybe since a colleague came back from Tanzania and you asked too many questions at lunch. You nodded, said you'd look into it, and then opened a browser tab you closed within ten minutes because the flights seemed complicated and the safari lodges seemed expensive and the whole thing seemed like it required a version of you with more time, more money, more certainty. The tab closed. The trip stayed on the list.Indian travellers are extraordinarily good at planning trips they never take. Africa sits at the top of that particular list for a specific reason: it feels like a reward trip, a once-in-a-lifetime trip, the kind of thing you do when everything is sorted. And because everything is never fully sorted, Africa waits. Zanzibar waits. The wildebeest keep crossing the Mara River without you.
