Tanguy Ndombele transfer exit: Lyon arrival, PSG talks 'break down', Pochettino's stance

Tottenham's record signing Tanguy Ndombele continues to be linked with an exit from the club.

The Frenchman was booed off by some Spurs supporters in their FA Cup third round win against Morecambe earlier in the month and his future has been in serious doubt ever since.

Ndombele does not seem to be part of Antonio Conte's plans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Lyon, as well as PSG, have been linked with a move for the midfielder.

With all of that in mind, football.london has taken a look at how the headlines and speculation surrounding Ndombele's reported move to Ligue 1 has unfolded.

Ndombele has been spotted in France ahead of a move to Lyon.

The Frenchman posed with a fan, who later shared the image of the two on Twitter.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Spurs and Lyon are set to reach an agreement on a loan deal that includes an option to buy.

Talks 'break down'

According to TF1, via the Express, PSG are unable to free up space in their squad with two days of the window left to bring Ndombele in.

The Paris-based outfit are one of the wealthiest clubs in world football, so the money side of proceedings is not thought to be the issue - there are just too many players in Ndombele's position.

This could come as a big blow for the Tottenham midfielder, who may be wanting a move away in the coming days in order to play more regular football.

Wijnaldum or Draxler swap deal

Georginio Wijnaldum and Julian Draxler are open to being part of a loan swap deal that would see Ndombele or Dele Alli go the other way.

That is according to 90min, who report that the pair have made themselves available for transfer if such an opportunity presents itself.

Pochettino plays down speculation

As Ndombele looks surplus to requirements at Tottenham, he may find himself playing Mauricio Pochettino once again, the man who brought him to north London in the first place.

However, the Argentine has played down those links, but has admitted that the Parisians are keen to add to their squad.

"I don't like to talk about rumours and players who are not in our club," he said, as cited by journalist Hadrien Grenier on Twitter.

"We have high quality players, the club has done a great job this summer. The transfer window is open. The club is listening and seeing what's going on."

Tottenham's demand

As per Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, via the Express, talks between PSG and Tottenham about a potential loan move for Ndombele were ongoing earlier in the window.

However, Spurs will only accept a deal if the Parisians are willing to cover 100% of his rumoured £200,000-a-week salary until the end of the season.

Romano continued by explaining that PSG are now in direct contact with the player's agents also.

Training alone

football.london reported at the start of the window that Ndombele has been training on his own, away from the rest of the Tottenham first team squad at Hotspur Way.

The 25-year-old Frenchman was left out of Antonio Conte's squad to face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.

That came after Ndombele incurred the wrath of the Tottenham fans during the FA Cup third round tie against Morecambe, walking slowly off the pitch when he was substituted for Oliver Skipp with the team 1-0 down and only appearing to slow down further when the supporters started booing.

He walked straight down the tunnel before later returning to the Spurs dugout for the game's final stages.
