Tanguy Ndombele Napoli loan, Harry Winks wait, Bryan Gil call - Tottenham transfer exits latest

The focus is very much on outgoings at Tottenham at present as the summer transfer deadline edges ever closer. With the transfer window shutting for business at 11pm on Thursday, September 1, clubs now just have over two weeks left to complete any remaining deals.

Tottenham have been very active so far this summer having brought in six new faces, and that number will soon increase to seven with Destiny Udogie set to join from Udinese before heading back to the Italian club on a season-long loan deal. Things have also stepped up in terms of exits recently but more still has to be done.

So what is the latest in terms of players heading out of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before deadline day? football.london takes a look.

Following Giovani Lo Celso's loan move to Villarreal on Sunday evening, Tanguy Ndombele could potentially be the next Tottenham player to depart for the 2022/23 campaign. Amid reports of a move to either Villarreal or Newcastle United, Italian side Napoli look set to win the race for his signature, with the player tipped to link up with Luciano Spalletti's team on loan with an option to buy.

football.london understands that both clubs are still in talks over the Frenchman and a deal is getting closer but no agreement has been reached just yet. All parties will be hoping a move goes through sooner rather than later so the player can try and get his career back on track in Italy.

Sergio Reguilon is another who also needs a move ahead of deadline day as he is no longer in Conte's plans going forward. Absent from the Tottenham squad entirely along with Lo Celso, Ndombele and Harry Winks for their summer friendlies, the left-back has been linked with clubs in Italy and Spain so far this summer.

His former loan club Sevilla were mentioned, although that now looks extremely unlikely to go through after the La Liga side signed Alex Telles on loan for the 2022/23 campaign. Winks is also still waiting for a move away amid previous talk that he would join Everton on loan.

However, the Toffees have since signed Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gana Gueye could potentially be set for a Goodison Park return as they look to bolster their midfield. The 26-year-old desperately needs a move after two seasons with limited football and his future could well drag on right up until deadline day.

Fellow academy graduate Japhet Tanganga could also potentially depart over the coming weeks following interest from both AC Milan and Roma. A move would do the player the world of good in his quest to play week in, week out, but Spurs cannot leave themselves too short at the back and would have to bring a replacement in if the 23-year-old departs as they have already let Joe Rodon go this month.

Conte and Fabio Paratici also have decisions to make over Pape Matar Sarr and Bryan Gil ahead of deadline day. The former certainly appears to have made a big impression on the head coach in his first month in N17 as he was hailed as a "really good prospect" by the 53-year-old after Tottenham's draw at Chelsea.

Oliver Skipp's injury has highlighted the need to have a fifth midfield option just in case more injuries or suspension strike throughout the season, with Sarr able to step up if that is the case. Another loan spell would undoubtedly help the player's game but so would spending time working under Conte at Hotspur Way.

In terms of Gil, Valencia have been linked with another loan move for the Spaniard after he wowed for them in the second part of last season. The Spain U21 international got plenty of game time under his belt in pre-season and he has been included on the bench for Tottenham's first two Premier League games of the campaign.

Conte does want to have two players for every position and his comments in his press conference ahead of the Chelsea match appear to indicate that the youngster is in his plans as things stand at present. The Tottenham boss quite clearly sees something in his player going on his selections so far and his future will become a lot clearer over the next fortnight.

A call also needs to be made over Harvey White as he needs to get more experience of playing in a first-team environment after not heading out on loan last campaign. What could complicate matters, however, is Tottenham's homegrown number issues as they need to make sure they have enough in both the Premier League and Champions League.
