NAGPUR: Tamil Nadu's 20th seeded International Master (IM) Rohith Krishna played out a 39-move draw with Belarus GM Aleksej Aleksandrov to clinch the second Maharashtra International Grandmasters Open at the Naivedhyam Northstar hall, Koradi Road, on Friday.
A day after securing a one point clear lead, 18-year-old Rohith was just a draw away from emerging champion in his third consecutive international rating tournament. Replying to the Queen pawn opening of Aleksandrov, Rohith opted for the Nimzo-Indian defence with his black pieces and took just 39 moves to split the point.
