CHENNAI: AIADMK leaders Edappadi K Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam may be at war over the party leadership, but their Bakrid greetings seem to have more things in common.
The similarity was so striking that except for a few words, one paragraph each in both the statements read the same.
The leaders said that innumerable sacrifices and dedication were needed to root out adharma, injustice, machination and malice that were obstacles to the development of the country and societal progress, and for good thoughts and virtues to win.
They said, "Let us all take a pledge on the day of Bakrid that we will keep in mind the sacrifices of the Holy Prophet and strive with a sense of dedication to save humanity".
Panneerselvam's statement had an additional word - betrayal - in it while listing out the obstacles and emphasised on love and compassion to win.
