T20 World Cup: 'Rahul Dravid's immediate job would be to get Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya back in good space, form'

NEW DELHI: Five-time champions Mumbai Indians being completely blown out of the waters under new captain Hardik Pandya has been the biggest story this IPL season.

With 9 losses in 13 games, MI are already out of the playoffs race and now fight for their pride, looking to avoid finishing last on the points table.

But amid all the embarrassment of falling flat in IPL, the larger pictures possesses a greater threat as two MI stars Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya have been battling a horrendous run of form.

And this comes as a really bad news for Team India, who will next be seen in action at the T20 World Cup, starting next month in the Americas.

With both Team India captain Rohit and vice-captain Hardik struggling, a worried cricket expert and commentator Harsha Bhogle opined that head coach Rahul Dravid’s task at hand right now would be getting the two back in good shape.

While India captain Rohit has scored 349 in 13 IPL games so far at an average of just over 29, Hardik has fared even worse with just 200 runs.

However, the other India stars in the MI line-up -- Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah have done pretty well, which comes as a good news for the Indian team.

The T20 World Cup starts from June 1 and India take on Ireland in their opener on June 5.
