Sylvester Stallone Praises Trump as a 'Mythical Character,' Calls Him 'The Second George Washington" in Intense Mar-a-Lago Speech

Sylvester Stallone referred to Donald Trump as a "mythical character" and "the second George Washington" during an intense speech introducing the President-elect at the Mar-a-Lago Club.

"We're in the presence of a really mythical character," Stallone told the America First Policy Institute Gala crowd, as captured in a C-SPAN video posted to X. "I love mythology. And this individual does not exist on this planet. Nobody in the world could have pulled off what he pulled off, so I'm in awe."

"And I'll say this and I mean it: When George Washington defended his country, he had no idea that he was gonna change the world. Because without him, you could imagine what the world would look like. Guess what? We got the second George Washington," Stallone continued.

After Trump walked on stage, the two proceeded to share a long handshake as Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" played in the background.

Earlier in Stallone's speech, the actor compared Trump's journey to be elected a second time to his famous character's journey in "Rocky."

"When I made 'Rocky,' if you remember the first image was a picture of Jesus and it said 'Resurrection, AC Club.' I found a church that had been converted into a boxing ring. So the image pans down from Jesus on to Rocky being hit and that moment he was the chosen person, and that's how I began the journey," Stallone told the crowd.

"Something was going to happen — this man was going to go through a metamorphosis and change lives. Just like President Trump," he continued.

While Stallone previously shared that he did not vote in the 2016 and 2020 elections, he told Variety in a 2016 interview, "I love Donald Trump. He's a great Dickensian character. You know what I mean? There are certain people like Arnold, Babe Ruth, that are bigger than life. But I don't know how that translates to running the world."
