The red-hot Sydney Flames have made it four straight WNBL wins with a 21-point drubbing of the Southside Flyers in round 13.

Dual 21-point outings from Cayla George and Lauren Nicholson gave  the Flames a 102-81 victory as they try to lock in a top-four position with just two rounds left before finals.

The damage was done in a blistering first half where they built an 18-point lead which they didn't relinquish at Sydney Olympic Park.

Along with George and Nicholson's prolific scoring, Didi Richards (18 points, 12 rebounds) also put in work for the Flames with her fourth double-double of the season.

Seven-time WNBA All-Star Lauren Jackson continued to impress for the Flyers as she pushes for selection for a fifth Olympic campaign.

She made 17 points and found eight rebounds but it wasn't enough to prevent her third-ranked side's first loss in four outings.

Melbourne landed a big blow to Perth's chances of playing finals, taking care of the Lynx with a 90-76 win in Parkville.

The second-ranked Boomers, who shored up their own spot in the post-season with the victory, blew their opponents away with a 33-9 first quarter.

Monique Conti (19 points, five assists) led the Boomers' scoring but it was a brilliant defensive outing for Jordin Canada (17 points, seven assists) that saw her make seven steals.

Perth guard Miela Goodchild (15 points) was strong for the Lynx while Teige Morrell (14 points) and Mackenzie Clinch Hoycard (13) gave them some punch off the bench.

The Adelaide Lightning capped the round with an 84-67 win against the UC Capitals, although it was far from a straightforward victory.

Remarkably, the Capitals led 59-57 with eight minutes to play but had to watch the Lightning close the game on a 27-8 run as they came up trumps in the clutch.

Jocelyn Willoughby dropped 21 points to lead the Lightning, helped out by Brianna Turner (16 points, 11 rebounds) and Lauren Mansfield (17 points, seven assists).

Alex Sharp had 20 points for the Capitals and hit four three-pointers.

The Capitals were no match for the Bendigo Spirit on Thursday night, brushed aside in a 93-75 loss.

Spirit guard Alex Wilson caught fire from deep and dropped four triples in her 23-point, six-rebound display.
