Susanna Reid says 'that's enough' as she forced to abruptly end ITV Good Morning Britain's Prince Andrew debate

Susanna Reid was forced to step in as she abruptly ended a debate on Good Morning Britain. Viewers were flocking to social media to complain about the scenes on the ITV news programme on Thursday (February 2) as they claimed producers must have been 'screaming' for the segment to be wrapped up.

The presenter and her co-host Ben Shepherd were joined on the programme by model and aristocrat Lady Victoria Harvey and lawyer and equality campaigner Dr Charlotte Proudman to discuss whether charity work could help 'restore Prince Andrew's reputation' after he reached a settlement out of court in the US civil sex claim filed against the royal last year.

The out-of-court settlement accepted no liability and Prince Andrew has always strongly rejected claims of wrongdoing. The duke, however, had to return his royal and military titles last January after discussions with the Queen, months before her death in September 2022.

During the latest episode of GMB, the programme posed the question after it has been reported the late Queen felt charity work may be the 'route back' into public life for her son. "What do you think and which charities might he work with?" Susanna then asked before introducing the guests.

Lady Victoria, who briefly dated Prince Andrew, has been a continued supporter of the royal while Dr Proudman said 'nothing' can redeem the duke. "I think there is a route back," Lady Victoria started by saying before she was quizzed on her contact with Prince Andrew. "I can't say that right now. I think as soon as the settlement agreement is over in mid-February things will be very different."

The guests then gave their thoughts back and forth, often speaking over each other, and it wasn't long before Susanna had to jump in. "Let's.... Let's not go into things we can't substantiate on this programme. Let's keep to the point," she said as Lady Victoria tried to interject.

"Look, I'm not going to argue with you..." the host added as she was spoken over and kept putting out her hands in a bid to signal for the talk to stop. The debate then briefly continued before Susanna was again left infuriated by an 'outrageous' comment from Lady Victoria to put a 'bet' live on air about the future of the case.

"No I'm not making a bet with you, I think that's outrageous," Susanna said before she had to step in again. "I am going to bring this interview to an end because you cannot smear victims of sex trafficking who have already been through hell," she said but the conversation still continued.

"Lady Victoria, that's enough," Susanna finally then interjected. "I'm sorry. I have to bring that to an end. You are making very serious allegations. The fact of the matter is, as the barrister here at our desk reminds everybody, there were convictions in this case and we're not going to take issue with those."

She again put her hands up in the air to stop both Lady Victoria and Dr Proudman from saying anymore before thanking them for their appearance. It was then over to Ben to throw the programme to a break.
