Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid has shared her thoughts on Robert De Niro's bombshell news that he has welcomed his seventh child at 79-years-old.
Just a couple of months before his 80th birthday, the Hollywood actor shared the news in a recent interview whilst he was promoting his upcoming comedy film About My Father, which is set to be released later this month.
During the interview, The Meet The Fockers actor was asked about being a father-of-six, with interviewer Brittnee Blair saying: "I know you have six kids."
Robert however corrected her about his family and revealed that he had just welcomed his seventh child.
The Academy Award winner commented: "Seven, actually. I just had a baby".
Following the bombshell news from De Niro, Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna and her co-host Ed Balls discussed the controversial topic.
Sharing her thoughts, Susanna said that she understands why some fans of the actor could see his decision to have a child at 79 as 'self-indulgent' and 'selfish'.
Meanwhile, Ed said he felt it was 'wrong' that by the time his child will be 18 and at university, the actor will be almost 100-years-old - 'if he is still alive that is'.
Robert shared the news with ET Canada and a spokesperson for the actor - whose credits include The Godfather Part II and Taxi Driver - has confirmed the news to the Mirror.
It's not been confirmed who the baby's mother is but Robert is rumoured to be dating Tai Chi instructor Tiffany Chen after they met on the set of his 2015 movie The Intern, according to PageSix.
Robert shares his eldest two kids with his first wife Diahnne Abbott. The former couple - who were married from 1976 to 1988 - are parents to Drena, 51, and Raphael, 46.
He shares twin sons Julian and Aaron, 27, with his former partner Toukie Smith. They are understood to have been in a relationship from around 1988 until they separated in 1996.
He also shares son Elliot, 25, and daughter Helen, 11, with fellow actor Grace Hightower. Robert and Grace got married in 1997 and reportedly separated in around 2018.
