Jared Padalecki dodged death after his Tesla flew over a wall and smashed into a steel pole according to new details of the horror crash.
The Supernatural star missed an event for the snow last week after his co-star Jensen Ackles told fans that he had survived a "very bad car accident".
"He was in a very bad car accident," Jensen told fans at the time. "He wasn't driving, he was in the passenger seat, and he's lucky to be alive."
"Not only that, but he's home recovering, which the fact that he's not even in a hospital right now is like blowing my mind because I saw the car," he continued.
He said: "But he is doing OK, and he's moving around. But yeah, (it was a) really, really bad car accident.
"Just keep him in your thoughts, send him some love if you get a chance on social and he'll be back with us soon."
TMZ has revealed that Jared was actually a passenger and the driver lost control after the car turned left too quickly.
After smashing into the pole, the Tesla was then flung to the right, according to the report from the Texas Department Of Transportation.
The driver, said to be his cousin Jeremy Padalecki suffered the gravest injuries.
There were two other people in the car, who sat behind Jared and Jeremy.
Just days after the accident Jared reassured fans that he was "on the mend".
Sharing a photo of him and his daughter, Odette, he wrote: "Hey y’all! I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love. I’m definitely on the mend and hoping to return to filming later this week.
"I’m so lucky to have had the best care and be surrounded by people who love me. So grateful for everyone."
Jared stars in and is the executive producer of Walker, which is about Texas Ranger Cordell Walker.

Jared is widely known for playing Sam Winchester in 15 seasons of Supernatural', while Jensen played his on-screen brother Dean.
