Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson has made her return to the catwalk after 16 years, at the Melbourne Fashion Festival.
She walked at the opening of the event's premium runway series, held at the Royal Exhibition Building on Monday night.
The two fashion shows of the evening featured brands including Aje, Ngali, Oroton, Anna Quan and Bianca Spender.
Born in 1964, Macpherson's modelling career has lasted longer than many Australian fashion labels.
In 1982 at the age of 18 she appeared in a television advertisement for TAB Cola and went on to become one of the most well-known supermodels in the world.
She became known as The Body following a cover story for Time magazine in 1986 and has made the cover of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit edition a record five times.
Macpherson, who has launched a number of fashion and beauty business ventures, also appeared in the closing ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games as an Australian icon.
Another model, Megan Gale, made her runway return at the 2023 Fashion Festival to open the Autumn/Winter show for David Jones.
