An original copy of Superman No. 1 is commanding the spotlight by realizing $9.12 million on the block according to Heritage Auctions. The coveted pop culture artifact was first printed by DC Comics in the summer of 1939 and remained sequestered away in an unpaved attic in San Francisco waiting to be found. Three unnamed brothers in their 50s and 60s while sorting through their late mother’s residential belongings found the collectible inside a plain cardboard box.
