'Supergirl' the movie flopped at the box office, but the 2015 show is pure gold —and all 6 seasons are streaming on Netflix

Netflix Kara ZorEl Gold CW Melissa Benoist Milly Alcock
Melissa Benoist in Supergirl TV show.

Everything you know about Supergirl is different in ... well, "Supergirl" the TV show. The 2026 movie starring Milly Alcock may have stumbled at the box office, but long before Hollywood tried to bring Kara Zor-El to the big screen, the Melissa Benoist-led CW series quietly ran for six seasons.

Personally, I loved Milly’s hot-mess "Party Girl Kara" in the film (and think audiences slept on it!), but for anyone who didn’t vibe with that chaotic origin story, the 2015 show offers the warm, wholesome take the character deserved all along. And all six seasons are currently streaming on Netflix.
