Supercomputer makes huge Arsenal Premier League title prediction amid Champions League certainty

A supercomputer has determined that Arsenal have a 63% chance of winning the Premier League title as Mikel Arteta's team look to move eight points clear of Manchester City tomorrow.

Having secured a monumental injury-time triumph against fierce rivals Manchester United in their previous league outing, the Gunners visit Goodison Park on Saturday to take on Sean Dyche's struggling Everton side.

An expected win on Merseyside would see Arsenal take another significant step, both statistically and mentally, towards securing their first Premier League title in 19 years.

Whilst an immense standard of performance has been maintained at the Emirates Stadium this season, nerves will, undoubtedly, remain present between now and May. However, supporters can take faith in recognising that in-depth analytical findings suggest that their side have a large probability of becoming champions.

FiveThirtyFive's predicted Premier League table, which simulates each round of fixtures by relying upon data gathered from previous matches and formulates a league table from results, suggests that Arsenal will finish four points ahead of Manchester City in second place.

As a matter of fact, there is a 63% chance that the Gunners will manage to get their hands on silverware. There does, though, remain a 29% chance that Pep Guardiola will lead City to a third consecutive title win and inflict severe heartbreak on those of a red persuasion in north London.

According to research too, UEFA Champions League qualification, which the club painstakingly missed out on last season, is more than 99% likely.

Other fascinating findings include Liverpool and neighbours Tottenham Hotspur missing out on a Champions League spot, with Newcastle United boasting a 55% chance of securing qualification under Eddie Howe.

Chelsea are on track to miss out on European football completely according to data, with an eighth-placed finish deemed most likely for Graham Potter's side.

The Premier League's current relegation zone is tipped to remain the same, meaning Everton, Bournemouth and Southampton all face the prospect of Championship football and Wolves narrowly avoid the drop.
