Donald Trump has repeated remarks appearing to suggest that Iran could strike Los Angeles and San Diego, two days after his original comments prompted California Governor Gavin Newsom to call for the 25th Amendment to be invoked against him.

Speaking at a campaign rally at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas, on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, the president returned to the line and framed it as a warning of what a nuclear-armed Iran could do.
