A driver behind the wheel of a 'supercar' has been caught whizzing down the M5 at more than 140mph.
Police say they clocked a BMW travelling at 142mph in Somerset today (Thursday, January 20) before they stopped it near Bristol.
Avon and Somerset Police's Roads Policing Unit has slammed the driving as "reckless and selfish."

Posting on Twitter, officers said one in 25 drivers who passed them in the space of an hour were caught speeding at above 85mph.
The tweet read: "Supercar at track speeds on the #M5! #Fatal5 #Speed.
"Driver detected at a speed of 142mph today in #Somerset and was stopped by officers near to #Bristol.
"This level of driving is both reckless and selfish - it puts lives at risk.
"1 of 25 drivers caught above 85mph in an hour."
Police shared an image of the BMW on the motorway at 12.18pm, and another of it on the hard shoulder after it had been pulled over by officers.
The tweet did not state what happened to the driver.
