Super Tuesday Voters Face Varied Weather Conditions Across US

U.S. elections could affect markets fixated on Fed, economy

Polls are opening in several states on Super Tuesday, and voters may need to prepare for various weather conditions. Across the country, there are significant weather elements impacting voting locations. With 16 contests taking place, the weather forecast plays a crucial role in determining voter turnout and accessibility.

California, particularly the central and northern regions, is facing the impact of another weather system. Meanwhile, the eastern sections of Texas are experiencing the potential for severe weather as voters head to the polls. The Deep South is also seeing heavier rainfall, with a storm system affecting the East Coast from Virginia to Massachusetts.

The current radar shows a storm system off the Delmarva Peninsula, bringing rainfall to major cities along the I-95 corridor such as DC, Philadelphia, and soon New York City. In the Deep South, a significant amount of moisture is moving into the Florida Panhandle, with an expected increase in intensity across Alabama, posing a flash flood threat.

Eastern sections of Texas, from Dallas to Shreveport, Louisiana, are under a marginal risk for severe weather, including large hail and damaging winds. This risk extends to Little Rock, Arkansas, with the potential for disruptive weather conditions.

Areas like Birmingham could see two to four inches of rain, leading to ponding on roadways and potentially impacting travel to voting stations. Atlanta and Macon may experience flash flooding, with higher chances in western Alabama and southern Tennessee.

Notably, California recently endured a five-day blizzard that resulted in over 10 feet of snow. Despite this monumental weather event, voters in California are also heading to the polls today.
