We’re live!
Hello everyone and welcome to our coverage of the 60th Super Bowl!
Keep tuned for what promises to be a rollercoaster of a day as we talk you through all the action as it unfolds.
Super Bowl: Where, when, why and what?

We imagine you'll have a lot of questions.
Where is the action taking place?
When does the main action start?
Why is it happening in California even though no Cali teams are playing?
What do I need to know about the next 4-6 hours?
And most importantly who will be taking home the Vince Lombardi Trophy?
All in good time, we'll answer these all soon!
Where is the action taking place?

So, where is the action taking place?
Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara to be precise, just across the bay from San Francisco. This venue has served as the home of the San Francisco 49ers for over 10 years.
But how come they're hosting if the 49ers didn't make it to the Super Bowl?
Well, it's a part of a bidding process where cities bid to host the biggest sporting event of the year. It's a coincidence when cities host and have a team in the Super Bowl.
How do I watch the Super Bowl?

Perhaps the most important question now: how do I watch all the action?
We've got you covered. Check out our page dedicated to how to watch all the American football action no matter where you are in the world.
Whether it's Peacock if you're USA based or elsewhere, read more here.
Who's playing and who's the favourite?

It's the New England Patriots vs the Seattle Seahawks.
We know you already know that, you wouldn't be reading this if you did.
But who's looking like the favourite? Early conventional wisdom has Seattle as the bookie's favourite but New England have lifted more Super Bowl trophies.
Will the underdogs make it a record-breaking seventh win or will Seattle provide a win for the West Coast with the home crowd more than likely on their side?
Only time will tell...
Battle of the Titans

Every team loves a narrative and these two giants are no different.
New England Patriots were dominating when it came to Super Bowl appearances for much of the 2000s and 2010s in the heady days of Tom Brady...but recently not so much.
That is until Drake Maye who looks set to fill the big shoes of Brady and bring New England to a possible win today. Will he deliver?
And then we have Seattle Seahawks with Sam Darnold. Having only one victory and three appearances at Super Bowl, Seattle are putting all their chips with Darnold who has had a journey from player of ridicule to the Comeback King.
But which team and player will see them to victory?
Not here for the sports?

So, we've talked a lot about the sporting action but - he says in a barely audible whisper - maybe you don't like American Football?
A lot of Americans and viewers from around the world tune in for much more than this. It's as much about the atmosphere as it is the two teams battling out on the field.
And that includes the halftime show which this year will be Bad Bunny's terrain. The Puerto Rican rapper - who scooped up some Grammys less than a week ago - is a phenomenally popular artist who will be sprinkling his own flavour over proceedings.
He'll be singing and rapping fully in Spanish, the first non-English performance in Super Bowl history. It's sure to be explosive, keep tuned for that.
Less than an hour until kick off!

Well, the hour is nearly here.
In 40 minutes, we'll be kicking off the action in California.
Anticipation for one of - if not - the biggest sporting event of the year is high and we're hoping for a riveting game.
Still not sure how to watch the action where you are? Check out this handy guide here.
Who is Vince Lombardi?

You'll know his name from the trophy named after him, but who is Vince Lombardi?
Well, back in the 1960s as head coach, he led the Green Bay Packers to three straight and five total NFL Championships.
Not only is he considered the greatest America Football coach all of all time, but he is often thought as one of the greatest sport coaches ever.
So, now you know.
A handy guide to understanding American Football
With the rise of NFL in other countries, such as the UK, there's a lot of understanding to do.
NFL UK have put together a very handy guide to understand all the rules.
You're welcome.
Welcome Green Day!
Doing the pre-show this year, we have California locals: Green Day.
They open with some of their classic songs from American Idiot. Their masterpiece Holiday is their first song.
Interesting to see if they get political given what this album was protesting and their stance on the current government.
American Idiot closes their set

Now, Green Day play their signature song which already sounds like it was bleeped slightly.
They're being fairly apolitical as the occasion demands but it's no surprise they played it now in America.
How do you follow this explosive opening?
Seattle Seahawks enter!
The Seahawks are in the building!
They will be led by their five captains WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, CB Devon Witherspoon, FB Brady Russell, DE Leonard Williams and WR Cooper Kupp.
Will the favourites prevail?
Enter New England!
Here come the New England Patriots!
The six time Super Bowl winners are looking for a seventh to see them break a record...whether they can do it or not is a different matter.
Are you cheering on the East Coast as they take on the West Coast?
America the Beautiful is performed
A stirring rendition of America the Beautiful is performed by Grammy-winning Washington local artist Brandi Carlile.
Classy stuff from the Seattle Seahawks fan.
Charlie Puth has the unenviable job
And now the hardest job of the night apart from the halftime show: the national anthem.
Artists have been slated and lauded in equal measure for their interpretations before.
Puth does a pretty decent job, a gentle rendition from the guy who sang the Fast and Furious weepy song.
It's nearly time!

The stage is set, and it's nearly time to go!
Are you ready?
Make sure you kow how you're watching the action where you are here.
Super Bowl Hall of Famers watch on
Manning, Montana, you know a few of these names.
They watch on from the sidelines as they prepare for the start.
Find out how you can watch for free if you're in America now.
New England win the coin toss!
And there we go: the Patriots win the coin toss!
This means that New England will kickoff and take the ball after halftime, a massive advantage psychologically too before any action has even been played.
Kickoff!
The moment you've been waiting for!
New England kickoff and seem happy with it.
Steady progress for Seattle
After New England's kickoff we've watched Seattle make steady progress up the field.
Nothing for either teams yet but keep posted.
Seattle score 3!
As soon as I type that it's 0-0, Seattle go on and add three to the scoreboard!
A lovely early edge for the Seahawks as they dominate early doors.
3-0.
Any Canadians watching?

And a shoutout to any Canadians watching, the friendly neighbours up north!
Maybe they'll be cheering on Seattle, Washington who share a border with Canada.
Regardless, here's how you can watch all the action if you're based here.
New England slowed down
Hall, of Seattle Seahawks, successfully takes down the ball from New England!
Very good defensive play as they don't give up too much ground.
Seattle miss a big opportunity!
Seattle launches the ball up the field in what looks like it could be a huge opportunity...
...but no one's there to receive it!
The score still stands at 3-0 to the Seahawks.
How do I watch the halftime show?
This halftime show may be one of the most talked about of recent years
A tall order consider Kendrick played last year in an incredible but contentious set where he performed his iconic diss track Not Like Us about Drake.
But how do you watch all the action as Bad Bunny takes the stage?
Read all about it here.
Some celebs watching on...
Tennis player Roger Federer, Apple CEO Tim Cook and rapper Jay-Z.
It's a random assortment of celebs - some appearing in the news for the wrong reasons recently - but reflects how diverse the crowd watching at home is too.
Seattle defence works overtime!
Are New England lacking in their offence or are Seattle playing a great defensive game?
More the latter but New England are struggling to find points as Seattle still lead with three.
3-0.
If you had to describe the action so far in a single picture:

Start of second quarter
As one quarter ends, another begins.
A low scoring game so far as both teams get a sense of the other but the quarterbacks have certainly see plenty of action.
Will this continue?
A close call for New England
Seattle make a hell of a lot of progress!
New England nearly allow the ball to be caught near touchdown in a slip but thankfully no game.
But two successive charges up the field see Seattle get ever closer to scoring some more points on the scoreboard.
Will the East Coast hold off the West Coast or is this fighting the inevitable?
An alternative halftime show (that nobody asked for)
Some not content with the announcement of Bad Bunny's halftime performance have taken it upon themselves to organise an 'alternative halftime show' led by faded country singer Kid Rock.
Not sold? Me neither.
Well, if you want to tune into this far-right protest - who were outraged at the idea of a non-English halftime show - on your own head be it but here's how you can do so here.
Let me know if it's any good.
6-0 to Seattle!
With the New England Patriots refusing to budge in the red zone, Seattle use their initiative and kick an incredible field goal thanks to the talent of Jason Mayers.
While Seattle have doubled their lead, this looks likes it'll be a low scoring game all in all unless either team can capitalise on a burst of momentum.
Who's your money on?
You can always rely on dramatic pictures at Super Bowl

A game of defence (so far)
To be fair to both teams, their defences are incredibly strong.
The downside? This means not as much dramatic action and a very lethargic score early doors.
You can see both offensive teams struggling to find gaps but it just takes a slip up to change that score dramatically for either side.
A reminder for our Americans and Canadians how to watch the action where they are.
Even the celebs are checking their phones
Jessica Alba, Billie Joe Armstrong and Tobey Maguire.
Another strange who's who of celebs gracing the Super Bowl crowd but they all seem preoccupied with their phones or partners.
Albeit it's a break between action but this could be remembered as one of the slower Super Bowls...or maybe it'll end in an explosive final quarter as tends to happen.
It's anyone's guess.
Approaching the end of 2nd quarter
With less than one minute left of 2nd quarter, we may still be at 6-0 by the end of play which would mean three points scored in each quarter by Seattle.
However, the positive? The halftime show is just around the corner...
A reminder how to watch the halftime show here.
(And the alternative one too, I guess)
A great interception but three points to Seattle still
As it looked like the ball was heading to Seattle in the touchdown, New England jumped in front and stopped it dead in the water.
Inevitably the Seahawks scored another three points for their efforts with 10 seconds left.
9-0.
Lowest scoring first half since 2018
That's the big stat so far: Lowest scoring first half since 2018.
We hope viewers, particularly around Europe where it's after midnight, aren't falling asleep.
Thankfully, the halftime show is on soon!
Here's the halftime show!
Strap in as Bad Bunny's time approaches...
Enter Bad Bunny!
Bad Bunny cuts a fine figure in a white getup, a subversion of the American football outfit holding the football with a tropical jungle surrounding.
The dancers take over in a steamy halftime show and it's only just starting!
Shout out to Puerto Rico!
No habla Espanol but even I recognised Bad Bunny's shout out to his home country. Hola, Puerto Rico!
He's wasting no time and has an infectious energy as he goes through his back catalogue.
Viewers in Puerto Rico and elsewhere can find out where to watch the Super Bowl where you are here.
Enter and exit Lady Gaga!
A blink and you'll miss it appearance from previous Super Bowl alum Lady Gaga!
Nice to see her, whether she'll be back to accompany Bad Bunny later is anyone's guess.
A costume change to a white suit and Bad Bunny picks up where he left off.
God Bless America...and others!

The only English Bad Bunny speaks in this electrifying set is his closing line 'God bless America' and continues to list other countries as well such as Mexico, Canada, El Savador, Ecuador and - of course - Puerto Rico!
He slams the American football down on the ground and marches off the field. A triumphant and defiant performance, balancing a line between apolitical but still saying plenty without explicitly saying anything outrageous.
Wonder how Kid Rock did.
Pedro Pascal, Karol G, Ricky Martin and Cardi B...a who's who of Latinx celebs!

And back to the game...
Well, that will have woken up grandad nodding off in his chair!
The third quarter is now in play after Bad Bunny vacates the stage and hopefully he can pass some of that energy on to the offensive for either Seahawks or Patriots.
We'll find out soon...
Less than 10 minutes of third quarter
We've got less than 10 minutes on the clock when it comes to this quarter and we're still to see a single point from New England.
While they've proved strong on defence, they've struggled to deliver the goods when it comes to offensive play.
Can they break the pattern of play so far and provide the ultimate upset? Anything's possible, I guess.
A near flash of brilliance from New England
New England had a serious case of momentum as they charged forward, en route to the touchdown...but thwarted by a strong defence.
With five minutes on the clock this quarter, the Patriots have their work cut out if they want this seventh record-breaking Super Bowl win.
We're mow in the territory of 'potential greatest upset in Super Bowl history' if the East Coast somehow prevail against the West Coast.
What a sight that would be though.
The touchdown alludes New England
Forget touchdowns, New England can't even seem to get the ball into the field goal range.
Less than a minute to go and the idea of any Patriot points seems unlikely in this quarter.
Maybe next quarter, eh lads?
End of third quarter

A magnificent touchdown for Seattle!
Another moment of inspiration as Seattle finds a body in the touchdown with a triumphant throw and a giant catch.
6 points thanks to AJ Barner!
A sloppy mistake or great play? A bit of both to be honest.
19-0.
An incredible touchdown courtesy of Seattle

A touchdown (finally) for New England!
Not to be outdone, New England also score a touchdown within five minutes of Seattle's!
It's just nice to see some numbers on the board for the East Coast and at least the pretence of competition.
Who knows though, it could the explosive final quarter as is often the way with Super Bowl.
Here's hoping.
19-7.
This Maye be the turning point

The much hyped replacement to take up the Tom Brady mantle (an impossible task) has delivered.
Drake Maye managed to find Mack Hollins from an incredible distance and give a sliver of hope to the Patriots.
19-7.
Less than 10 minutes left, don't miss the action!
Things are heating up and with less than 10 minutes you don't want to miss anything!
Check out how to watch all the action wherever you are here.
Another touchdown for Seattle!
A clean run to touchdown for Seattle!
An oversight from New England as their defence looks bare but an absolutely storming run from Seattle too.
This may be a bloodbath with five minutes left to go.
29-7.
Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words

Patriots take a touchdown but no celebration
You'd almost not register that the Patriots have scored a touchdown based on the lack of recognition of this milestone between players and crowd.
They know it's over but at least they haven't finished on single digits.
Just over two minutes left.
29-13.
A near touchdown for Seattle
It looked like an incredible run from Seattle, with no defence to stop them...until it wasn't.
Evidence of holding was flagged by the ref and it was ultimately called out. New England will appreciate this, any more points will only add to the humiliation.
29-13.
Just over 30 seconds left
I'm sure if they panned to the stadium seats, you'd see the Patriots fans filing out in an orderly line.
Just need to officially crown Seattle and then it's done.
Seattle win!
And that's it: the Seahawks are triumphant!
From the first quarter it was clear that this was the team in control and little was done from the Patriots to refute that.
By no means was it the most interesting Super Bowl but you have to admire New England pushing on to the end in what became a battle of defensive play.
29-13.
Congrats to Seattle!

With four appearances at the Super Bowl, and only one previous win in 2014, the Seahawks have broken their decade-long dry spell with a victory tonight!
The superior team throughout, this was definitely the right result.
FINAL RESULT: 29-13.
Seattle accept their trophy
Sam Darnold is taking the stage and accepting the iconic trophy after riding the highs and lows of professional American Football.
Truly a comeback for this man, this will surely be the story of the tournament.
Confetti rains down as the team cheers the fans.
Seattle Seahawks: the clear winners of Super Bowl LX

That's all folks!

Well, thanks once more for joining me for the 60th Super Bowl!
Whether you were here for the halftime show and vibes (guilty) or here for the sporting action (hopefully you weren't too disappointed), these days are always events and this one was no different.
I hope you had fun, I certainly did! I've been Dan, and I'll see you again soon.
