The Super Being event that includes Triathlon and Duathlon races, along with open lake swimming, running and cycling on national highway, will be an annual event in Belagavi, organisers have said.
Organising committee members Kiran Khot and Girish Dandannavar, announced this at an event to felicitate volunteers and finishers of the Super Being 2022 in Belagavi on Sunday.
The first edition of the event held in Belagavi on March 27, was a considerable success with 145 participants from different cities from South India.
It included open lake swimming in the Kote Kere Lake, cycling on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway and running. A short distance event was held for amateurs and Olympics distance events were organised for veterans.
Super Being has created awareness about fitness among women as it attracted a lot of women participants, Mayuri Shivalkar, who has participated in the international Iron Man events, said.
Cash prizes worth, in all, ₹1.65 lakh were distributed. Prize distribution was done by Sai Lokur, a prominent TV and film actress, and Ajinkya Mendke, a senior national-level swimming coach from Belagavi.
The event was organised by Thoughtflow Educational Trust in association with Belgaum Pedellers Club and Belgaum Aquatic Club.
