Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development K.T. Rama Rao has inaugurated completed projects worth ₹ 100 crore towards the Western part of the city, including a vehicle underpass, and link roads.
The vehicle underpass was constructed at the Silent Valley in Nandi Hills on Road No. 51, Jubilee HIlls Road, with an expenditure of ₹30.3 crore. Built in steel, the four-lane VUP by HRDCL makes it easier for loaded heavy vehicles to negotiate the steep gradient on the link road connecting Road No. 45 with the Old Bombay Highway, near the Silent Valley, a note informed. The link road reduces the distance between the two locations from five kilometres to 3.5 kilometres.
The Minister also inaugurated two link roads, one connecting Khajaguda Road with the Old Bombay Highway, and another from Khajaguda Lake to the Outer Ring Road.
The first link road, 950 metres in length, was laid with an expenditure of ₹15.07 crore. It starts at Pochamma Basti and ends at Chitrapuri colony. This will facilitate an alternative corridor to reach Khajaguda Road by avoiding Khajaguda junction, the note said.
The second link road is one kilometre in length and runs parallel to the Moulana Azad National Urdu University compound wall up to the Khajaguda-Nanakramguda road. Being built with an expenditure of ₹47.66 crore, it will serve as an alternative corridor to reach Khajaguda road from Old Bombay Highway.
