Tony Mowbray has admitted Sunderland will struggle to find a player capable of replacing Amad when he returns to Manchester United at the end of the season.
The Ivorian winger has impressed on loan at the Stadium of Light, scoring 14 Championship goals. Amad netted a stunning equaliser for Sunderland in their 2-1 win over Luton Town on Saturday.
MEN Sport revealed last month that Ten Hag is open to adding Amad to the first-team squad next season and United have made arrangements for the winger to attend the FA Cup final.

Sunderland go to Kenilworth Road for the second leg of their play-off tie on Tuesday night. If Mowbray's men don't get a positive result, the former Middlesbrough boss has confirmed there is no chance the youngster will return to the Stadium of Light next season.
"If we don't get the result we want tomorrow night, the journey finishes this season," Mowbray said. "Everyone's focus will be on recruitment, how will the team look?
"The loan players will disappear, what does next season look like? We want to grow the club, who will come in that can do what Amad has done for us?
"As I walked in, Ross Stewart won't be too long in pre-season. We want to put a team on the pitch that can be competitive and make a difference in football matches, like Amad has done.
"We have Patrick (Roberts), we have Jack (Clarke). Those players can make a difference and if you have a structure behind them they can win games, let's wait and see."
