Sunderland are heading back to the Championship after winning the League One play-offs at Wembley. The Black Cats defeated Wycombe Wanderers 2-0, with Elliot Embleton scoring in the first half and Ross Stewart in the second.
Sunderland were roared on by more than 46,000 fans at Wembley, and it was the club's first win at the national stadium in front of a crowd since their FA Cup triumph back in 1973. It ends Sunderland's four-year stay in the third tier, and Alex Neil and his team will be playing Championship football next term.
