Popular Bristol-based restaurant firm Pieminister made an appearance on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch today (March 5) as the guests sampled some of their pies. However, one offering received a mixed response from viewers.
Jon Simon and Tristan Hogg went to the studio to discuss British Pie Week, which begins tomorrow (March 6). They also promoted a new book the firm is releasing with pie recipes.
The duo brought along three of the restaurant's pie dishes for the guests including comedian Lucy Porter and McFly member Danny Jones to taste. The offerings they received were Frank's Biryani, Hop Dog and Mook Dongles Lava Pie.

All three pies received positive feedback from the guests as they munched away on them. However, one of them got a bit of a hard time on social media.
Many viewers seemed to take a dislike to Frank's Biryani pie, mainly because of the fact it contained a lot of rice inside. It left people watching the show questioning how dry it would be to eat.
A viewer called Sue tweeted the vomit emoji along with the comment: "Looks like a curried rice pie."
Shrimpsy added: "Franks pie looks very dry. Get the gravy out lads."
Mick had similar thoughts to Shrimpsy. He said: "Even gravy couldn't save that rice pie."
The second offering - Hop Dog which had meat and beer in it - had a better response. Baroness Beckie said: "Beer and beef, that’s more like it."
However, Frank's Biryani pie did get a more positive response from the guests. When asked by hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer what they thought of the pie, actress Amy-Leigh Hickman gave it a thumbs up, saying: "I wasn't sure [about it at first], but it works."
Sunday Brunch airs every Sunday on Channel 4 at 9.30am. You can also watch it on All 4.
