NEW DELHI: Ace Indian tennis player Sumit Nagal is on the verge of securing a spot in the main draw of the Australian Open after advancing to the final round of the qualifying tournament in Melbourne.

Nagal secured a convincing victory over Australian wild card Edward Winter, with a score of 6-3, 6-2, in a match that lasted one hour and four minutes at the KIA Arena on Thursday.
