Sugar Rallies on Hopes for Chinese Buying After Sharp Weekly Decline

Oct NY world sugar #11 (SBV23) on Friday closed +0.71 (+3.22%), and Aug London white sugar #5 (SWQ23) closed up +12.80 (+2.06%).

NY sugar prices on Friday rebounded higher on some short-covering after the plunge seen over the past 1-1/2 weeks to Thursday's 2-3/4 month low.  Sugar prices also rebounded on hopes that Chinese importers will step up their buying with the substantially lower prices seen this week.
