Sugar Prices Rebound as Crude Oil Jumps

October NY world sugar #11 (SBV26) is up +0.05 (+0.29%) today, and December London ICE white sugar #5 (SWZ26) is up +4.20 (+0.84%).

Sugar prices recovered from early losses today and turned higher, amid a jump in crude oil prices. WTI crude oil (CLX26) is up more than +2% today, which benefits ethanol prices and could prompt sugar mills globally to divert more cane crushing toward ethanol production rather than sugar, thus reducing sugar supplies.
