Sugar Prices Finish Higher as Dollar Weakness Stokes Short Covering

May NY world sugar #11 (SBK25) Wednesday closed up +0.24 (+1.24%), and May London ICE white sugar #5 (SWK25) closed up +7.00 (+1.28%).

Sugar prices Wednesday rose to 1-week highs and settled moderately higher due to a weaker dollar.  The dollar index (DXY00) on Wednesday fell to a 1-1/2 week low, spurring short covering in sugar futures.
