'Subtle changes' - Eddie Howe's vision for Newcastle United's summer recruitment drive

Eddie Howe Newcastle United

Eddie Howe believes the "natural flow" of football means he will have to deliver some disappointing news to some of his squad players this summer.

Howe has tried to play down a recruitment drive and said today that there would be no "revolution" or "wholesale changes" to his roster next season. However, with the squad currently oversized, with Jamal Lewis, Ciaran Clark and Isaac Hayden without a place on the 25-man list, the Toon head coach will have to be realistic this summer.

Howe also has Jeff Hendrick, Freddie Woodman, Elliot Anderson and Matty Longstaff all to return from loan deals taking his senior quota way above the 30 mark and that's before summer signings are factored in.
