As the daughter of soulful rock star Lenny Kravitz and the achingly cool 90s actress Lisa Bonet, there was never any doubt that Zoë Kravitz would become a modern-style icon.
The actor, performer and director is now a force in her own right, thanks to her roles as Bonnie Carlson in the critically acclaimed HBO show Big Little Lies, as well as Selena Kyle – aka Catwoman – opposite Robert Pattinson in The Batman. Still, it hasn’t taken any spotlight from her innate ability to serve a look.
The embodiment of downtown chic, loose fitted shirts and boot-cut jeans are a well-worn instrument in Kravitz’s cool-engendering toolbox. Also a fan of the Olsen twin’s brand The Row and their famed minimalist silhouettes, the 33-year-old has enviable skills in making simple ensembles impossibly stylish.
The same goes for her red carpet looks. As the global ambassador for Saint Laurent, Kravitz almost exclusively wears Little Black Dresses from the French fashion house to high profile events. In fact, for the whole of the recent The Batman press tour Kravitz has sported nothing but LBDs, and even outfit repeated by wearing the same sequin Saint Laurent gown that she wore to the 2019 Met Gala.
Though Andrew Mukamal is the stylist behind many of her looks, Kravitz plays an integral part in how she dresses. "Zoë has a vision for herself and her life," he told Vogue in a 2019 interview. "She never says ‘styling is your job, you do it.’ We’re in it together. And she has a hawk eye for detail. If something doesn’t sit right, she’s on it."
Word has it, the last thing she was on was Channing Tatum’s crocs, who she allegedly convinced to stop wearing them.
