A new property has been listed for sale in Merseyside that dates back to the 1600s.
The original building, a former detached barn, dates back to 1627, however the current owners finished an extensive rebuild and renovation back in 2007. Guildhall Barn boasts four double bedrooms, three bathrooms and new luxury fixtures, including underfloor heating.
There’s also a detached garage, split over two floors, that can be used as additional storage, a summer house or annex. Surrounded by half an acre of private land and gardens, the stone barn is found in the peaceful, semi-rural location of Gores Lane, Crank, in St Helens.

Guildhall Barn is on the market with Regan and Hallworth for offers in the region of £1,500,000. Crank is a village in St Helens, and the overall average price for property sales in the last year was £237,250, according to Rightmove.
Most of those sales were made up of semi-detached properties, selling for an average price of £203,000. Detached properties sold for an average of £340,000.
According to the sales data, sold prices in the area over the last 12 months were 50% down on the previous year and 63% down on the 2010 peak of £635,000. However considering it’s a semi-rural location, sales are less frequent than other areas of Merseyside.
It’s also close to the more densely populated Rainford, which over the last year had similar sales prices to the previous year and 6% up on the 2018 peak of £222,614. Despite dating back to the 1600s, the home’s refurbishment has helped create a modern way of living, with the benefit of period characteristics.
Images of the property show the 'stunning' barn house show it has been completely modernised throughout. The kitchen has both wooden beams and exposed brick walls but also sleek fitted units and a central island.
Set over two floors, with just over 3100 sq ft, there's plenty of space for a family, with a large lounge and dining room and a study on the ground floor. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground level and the further two take up the first floor.
Two of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, with the remaining rooms sharing a four-piece family bathroom. The master suite has a hotel-like design, with a 'breath-taking' open plan bathroom with separate shower and bath along with large glass panel opening into the bedroom.
Outside, on the half an acre of land, Guildhall Barn has landscaped gardens to the front and side with driveway leading to a courtyard parking area. There is a detached double garage with upper floor. In the back garden is a lawn with open countryside views beyond and a patio area.
The Regan and Hallworth listing reads: "This is a rare and exciting opportunity to purchase a truly stunning detached barn located in the semi-rural area of Crank. Guildhall Barn is sat on approximately half an acre and is situated along Gores Lane with some superb country walks from the doorstep.
"There is also easy access to a range of local amenities, schools, public transport links and is just a short drive to several major motorway networks. The property originally dates to 1627 however the current owners started a complete rebuild back in 2007, this took two years to complete, and they finally moved in back in 2009."
